“The Poker Showdown has become one of my favorite events we host annually,” said Pocono Raceway President/CEO, Brandon Igdalsky. “It has been amazing to work with The NASCAR Foundation and the Armed Forces Foundation for the last two years. This year’s event is definitely shaping up to the best one yet. Sharing the evening with race fans, NASCAR drivers and personalities and members of our armed forces, is truly an honor. July 31st cannot come soon enough.”
Proceeds from this year’s event will help The NASCAR Foundation and Armed Forces Foundation continue to impact children in classrooms across the country, with a particular focus on their partnership in the Armed Forces Foundation’s annual education initiative, Operation Caring Classroom. This program increases awareness, appreciation and support among children for military families across the United States, impacting over 40,000 children and 100 schools.
“I look forward to the Poker Showdown each year,” said 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Kurt Busch. “It’s awesome what Brandon, Pocono Raceway and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs do for the NASCAR Foundation and the Armed Forces Foundation. With the funds going to education programs for school children, it’s a great way for the organizations to partner together and advance their missions.”
“We are honored to once again be hosting the third annual Pocono Charity Poker Showdown,” said President of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Mike Bean. “The entire team at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is proud to support the work of The NASCAR Foundation and the Armed Services Foundation.”
