Brief History of the Volunteer Worker Program
During NASCAR Sprint Cup events, studies have shown that Long Pond becomes the third largest city and Monroe the fourth largest county in all of Pennsylvania. In order to handle this immense crowd our Raceway staff increases to over 2,000 people.
Twelve years ago the Management at Pocono Raceway instituted the Volunteer Worker Program that would allow non-profit organizations to raise funds by working at our two NASCAR Sprint Cup events. The goal was to find groups who would want to participate each year and work in areas around the track, thus providing the racetrack with a cadre of experienced workers.
We believe that our Volunteer Worker Program is a win/win situation for both Pocono Raceway and the non-profit organizations that participate. We hope you take this opportunity to raise money for your organization and look forward to seeing you at Pocono Raceway.
