Dear Race Fans,
I don’t know about you, but our entire staff is pumped to get this year kicked off! 2013 marks one of the most exciting and jam-packed years “The Tricky Triangle” has seen in quite some time. We can’t wait for the long-awaited return of IndyCar, our 32nd-consecutive year with two Cup Series events, our fourth-annual Truck Series race, our 18th-consecutive year with two ARCA races and some other exciting announcements we’ll be making soon enough!
After returning from our winter break, I wanted to start out the year by sharing our Pocono Raceway New Year’s resolution with the most important people in our world…you, the fans!
Our 2013 New Year’s resolution is simple: continue to make improvements to our facility, bring new events here and, most importantly, create the best fan experience possible year in and year out. We’re taking an active stand to hear exactly what areas need improving, directly from fans, drivers and team representatives. We want to know what needs fixing and we can’t do it without your feedback!
The improvement project, which began two years ago and continues this year, started because the fans voiced their concerns. We want to continue this trend and urge you to contact us anytime. Although change does not take place overnight, we take pride in listening, documenting and responding back in a timely fashion. Our Facebook and Twitter pages have become a sounding board where we have direct person-to-person conversations on a daily basis. If you’re not a social media user, email us at poconoposse@poconoraceway.com or leave us a comment right here on our website.
To take this one step further, I am personally available via Twitter (@bigdalsky) or via email (poconoprez@poconoraceway.com). These are two direct lines of communication to me, so, feel free to drop me a note or send me a tweet anytime!
Another new addition to the 2013 season will be our Inaugural Fan Council. This council will help assist us in developing the best possible atmosphere for our fans by sharing their own experiences and discussing various topics with other, fellow race fans. All of the applications have been received and we will be making an announcement next week on which fans were selected.
As we wait for warmer temperatures to arrive in Long Pond, PA, cars to be back on the track and fans to arrive for three racing weekends over a nine week span, it’s time to get back to work as the green flag flies on the year.
On behalf of our entire staff, we wish you and your loved ones a healthy and happy New Year!
Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!
