LONG POND, PA (June 2, 2014) – The first-annual Pennsylvania Hauler Parade, in advance of the June 6 Pocono 400 at “The Tricky Triangle,” will take place on Thursday, June 5. Race fans are encouraged to come out and watch the parade in Harrisburg and follow the rest of the day’s events on Twitter by using #haulerPArade.
Hauler Parade Details (all times listed are Eastern Time):
- 10:00 – 11:30 am: Race fans are invited to check out the haulers in person at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, located in Harrisburg, PA. Haulers will leave the Farm Show Complex at 11:45 am, sharp.
- 11:30 am: Press Conference with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett, Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse, Pennsylvania Representative and Pennsylvania Co-Chairman of the House Motorsports Caucus John Payne and Pocono Raceway President/CEO Brandon Igdalsky. Location of this portion will take place at the Capital Fountain located on Commonwealth Avenue.
- 11:50 am: Haulers will arrive in the city of Harrisburg to circle the Capital Building. The Parade route will begin on Commonwealth Avenue, slow near the Capital Fountain, turn right onto Walnut Street, make a right onto North Third Street, turn right onto Forster Street and then exit the city towards Interstate 81 North.
- 12 Noon (approx): Haulers will be escorted by the Pocono Raceway Chevrolet SS Pace Car on Interstate 81 North.
- 1:30 pm (approx.):Haulers will be escorted by the Pace Car onto Interstate 80 East.
- 2:00 pm (approx.):Haulers will take exit 284 (Blakeslee) off Interstate 80 East onto Route 115 South.
- 2:10 pm (approx.): Haulers arrive at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA.
