My wife and I had a great time today. , been to a lot of races but have never seen so much on track action on a Friday. Can you send me the lineup for the xfinity race.
Glenn – We are so glad you enjoyed your Friday at the track! The lineup will be determined following NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying today at 9:05 a.m. We will be sure to post the starting lineup to our website.
Pocono Raceway, NASCAR and all of this weekend sponsors, I have a question.
Why should bother to watch your race, The Pocono 400 on Sunday, June 3, 2018 when you allow NASCAR and FOX Sports to only show today’s Friday practice and qualifying on a channel that less than 10% of the country can even receive? Fox Sports 2 is not available on over 90% of the USA on cable TV.
I live in Venice Florida and Comcast – Xfinity Sarasota County does not care about Fox Sports 2 or any of the multiple sports that Fox Sports 2 carries especially NASCAR and has zero plans to carry Fox Sports 2 in the extended future.
So if you don’t care about me why should I care about your race, your track and all the sponsors that advertise on the cars, commercials and signs around your track?
The only sponsor that I will still care about is M &M’s. Kyle Busch main sponsor and he will be driving the Red, White and Blue M & M’s Toyota.
There is a very good reason why attendance and ratings are down. You nickle and dime fans to death. Showing all racing action for today on a tiny channel is just another stab in my back. I’ve been to Pocono once for a NASCAR weekend. I guarantee that I will never think about going there again.
To top things off I am also a giant Penn State fan. My parents went to PSU while I went to Millersville in Lancaster. Now, I can not get Fox’s Big 10 Network. I have not missed a Penn State Football game on TV or a bowl game in Florida in over 13 years.
I was furious with NBC and NBCSN non coverage of the 2nd half of the 2017 season. I was so happy back in February that racing was back to Fox. Now I don’t care about NASCAR and Pocono. I am part of the Fan Council and have been since the first year when NASCAR asked me if I would like to join this new group.
I guess this is all my fault expecting to see and watch Fridays NASCAR coverage on Fox Sports 1. WRONG ……………
Thanks for taking the time and we understand the frustrations fans might have about broadcasting. Pocono Raceway has absolutely ZERO influence on the broadcast partner. The sanctioning body, in this case, NASCAR works directly with the broadcasters on television times and selection. Given your strong feelings, we suggest you contact NASCAR via their website. Additionally, we do apologize that your Florida TV service provider does not offer FOX’s Big 10 Network. We would suggest contacting them to see about getting this added to your respective programming in your area.
Great points Rob H. But backwards? Really? 😉 And you have valid points with some of your comments but Pocono’s reply is valid. Ultimately the fate of cable broadcasting is written on the wall and the way we will see what we want to see is via the varied ways online. Most young people rarely watch ANY broadcast TV and stream almost everything – sports included!
so thats why i couldn’t see any cup series practice or qualifying on friday. very sad. BTW, i am part of the Fan Council also and will bitch about it there too.
Thank you for your comments, but again, NASCAR is responsible for which station airs practice and qualifying. We do apologize for the inconvenience, for what it is worth, but we do decide that channel or timing.
I also do not get NASCAR and nany other events I love. Thats why I love PRN and MRN. Kudos to my local radio station for carrying the Cup race on Sunday!
