Friday, May 23, 2014 – To usher in the racing season,Pocono Medical Center (PMC) is hosting their second annual Pocono Raceway Day and children’s safety fair at PMC!
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 (rain or shine), in the Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center parking lot located directly across the street from PMC. There will be booths promoting child safety from PMC departments and from numerous Monroe County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), including local police, fire departments, 911 Call Simulation, Safety Town, PA State Police, in addition to various children’s organizations. PMC presents Pocono Raceway Day in honor of Dr. Joseph “Doc” Mattioli, beloved Pocono Raceway Founder and long-time safety advocate, who passed away.
In attendance will be Nick Igdalsky, Pocono Raceway’s Executive Vice President and COO, in addition to Tricky the Fox, the official mascot of Pocono Raceway. An official Pocono Raceway Pace car, an ambulance from LifeStar Response, and the M113 armored personnel carrier Tank from the Stroudsburg Police Department will be present. There will be free food; a Racecar Bouncy House, face painting and broadcasting the event live will be Stroudsburg radio station, WSBG, hosted by DJ Chuck Seese.
The first 100 attendees, above the age of 12, will receive a free June Saturday Grandstand ticket to Pocono Raceway. Additional raffle items will also be given away, such as tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway on Sunday, June 8.
