Question: What is your most memorable story at Pocono Raceway?
Answer: My most memorable story was in 2006 when Denny Hamlin swept both poles and both races. During the second race I was able to catch up to Denny down on pit road to get his autograph on the race won die-cast of the car from his first win.
Question: What is your funniest Pocono Raceway Story?
Answer: I was a Ricky Craven fan when he drove the Tide Ride. I was camping in the infield one race weekend when I was woken up in the infield by a big diesel F-250 backing in next to me. Only to find the truck was painted exactly as the Tide Car. The owner had won the truck at one of Ricky’s charity snowmobile events.
Question: When, how, and why did you get interested in racing?
Answer: I was introduced to racing at an early age growing up next to Erie Speedway in Erie, PA. I could sit in the back yard on Sunday nights and listen to the loud speaker. I remember my mom complaining she couldn’t hear the television on Sunday’s because of those dang races!
Question: What is some advice you would like to give a possible first time Pocono Raceway fan?
Answer: Be sure to camp in the infield to fully experience the track and all it has to offer. Go to the infield block party at night and be around the other fans. Also, be sure to get a pit/paddock pass and a R.E. Scanner.
Question: What driver would you like to one day meet and why?
Answer: I was a diehard Ricky Craven fan for years. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet him.
Question: What is one cool fact or talent about yourself that you would like to share?
Answer: I haven’t missed a race at Pocono in 14 years. I have worked my way up from camping in the One-Day Infield area and sleeping in the grass next to my car to finally having a Fenceline spot and my own camper.
