We draw fans from all over the world at Pocono Raceway because of our geographic location and proximity to New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. International racing fans tend to call Pocono Raceway their ‘home’ NASCAR track. We have been fortunate enough to hosts guests from at least 30 different counties. If you would like to be a featured in our International Fan Blog please email Kevin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meet Erik from Canada!
Name: Erik L.
Who traveled with you: A group of 5 friends.
How long did you plan your trip to Pocono Raceway? We usually start planning our next trip while we are still there. We think of ways to “step up our game”, and it continues throughout the year, if our wives never heard about it again, it would be too soon.
Where do you stay when you get to town? We stay in the infield with the rest of the campers, that’s where the action is, great people, and good times!
What was your first impression of Pocono Raceway? Just AWESOME!
What is one thing you saw or experienced that you did not expect? The hospitality of all the infield campers is great. People would find out we are Canadian and invite us in like long lost friends. Fan Fair on the grandstand side is a lot of fun too. We went to the Busch Beer display for the afternoon to play cornhole. Last year we hung out with Daryl Motte at that display, he gave us the gears about being Canadian, but it was all in good fun.
What was the most memorable part of your experience at Pocono Raceway? In 2017 a few of us nearly got Richard Petty’s autograph! In 2018 another big favorite was hanging out at Busch Beer display.
Do you have any advice for other international fans traveling to Pocono Raceway? Don’t be afraid to walk around and talk to anyone and everyone. Also, come find our camper with the Canadian flag flying and we could show you the ropes, teach you to throw bags and maybe belt out a tune on the karaoke machine.
Did you do any other trips while visiting the USA? No, when we go to the races, we park the truck Thursday and it stays there until Monday.
