Who’s ready for racing action to return to Pocono Raceway? We’re counting down the days until the stars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series duke it out at Pocono Raceway! Will the boys continue to ‘have at it?’ Will drivers be summoned to the NASCAR hauler after the race? Will there be a ( queue a “Caddyshack” reference) ‘Cinderella Story’ with an upset winner in the Pocono 500? Only 30 days until all those questions will be answered!
Before names like Gordon, Hamlin, Harvick, Johnson and Kahne take their first laps of the season at Pocono, we decided we’d give you a chance to take a spin around “The Tricky Triangle” in your personal vehicle. We’ve joined the NASCAR Day Car Wash for Kids, which will take place at various race tracks around the country. Ours is being held on Friday, May 20th, from 9 am-6 pm ET. For a small $10 donation, benefitting the NASCAR Foundation and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Pocono Medical Center (located in East Stroudsburg, PA), we’ll wash your car and let you dry it off by hitting our 2.5-mile track. If you’re around the area, stop by to support this worthy cause. Click here for further details.
Don’t have tickets? Become part of the Pocono Posse (our Facebook/Twitter community) for your chance to win pairs of Pocono 500 tickets. We have a new official Posse logo. It was hard-fought vote that ended in tie between a fan-submitted logo and one of ours. Everything we do here at Pocono is not possible without the support shown from our great fans! So, with a final Pocono Raceway vote, the fan-submitted logo was chosen. It’s pretty sporty, if you ask me.
Anyways, let’s get back to us giving you free tickets! We play trivia every week and as the race closes in, we’ll be playing for even more tickets, autographed items from NASCAR’s top drivers and, maybe, some pre-race pit passes. Additionally, by following us on Facebook and Twitter, you’ll get inside scoop about our race weekend social meet up and scavenger hunt. Trust me, both will be well worth it!
And, as I’m waiting for the race to get here, I personally can’t stay away from the excitement. Brandon Igdalsky, President of Pocono Raceway, and I will be heading to Dover this weekend and to the All-Star Race next weekend. If you’re going to be at either race, send us a note on Facebook or Twitter. We’ll try to stop by and say hi! Who knows, we might even have some swag or tickets for you!
Speaking of the All-Star Race, our friends at SPEED are running a serious promotion! If you don’t “Like” them on Facebook, you should go ahead and do that now! They’re giving away $10,000!!! Click here for SPEED’s Facebook Fan Page! And, during the Sprint All-Star Race, they’ll provide a special code for even more chances to win the cash. The Sprint All-Star Race airs live, on SPEED, at 7 p.m. ET, on Friday, May 21st!
Oh yeah, almost forgot! We have a Grand Marshall for the Pocono 500! So, who is it? Sorry, we can’t give that away just yet, but stay tuned for details!
Catch ya’ll soon!

beyond the fronstretch grandstand seating, is there are t any other bleahers around the track to see and get a better view of the wrecks that usually happen far from the main strecth of grandstands. its hard to pay so much money for a sat when year after year the action is so far away and very hard to see from the main grandstands. Is there any plans for the future to add bleachers outside turn one or outside turn three so that the paying customer can get a better view of the action?
