LONG POND, PA (July 5) – Juan Pablo Montoya, driver of the No. 2 PPG Automotive Refinish Chevrolet/Dallara for Team Penske, set a new Pocono Raceway qualifying record at 223.92 miles per hour (mph) today and earned the pole for the Pocono INDYCAR 500 Fueled by Sunoco. Montoya became the first driver to ever win a pole at “The Tricky Triangle” in both the Verizon IndyCar Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Will Power, Carlos Munoz, Takuma Sato and Nazareth (PA) native Marco Andretti round out the top-five starters for tomorrow’s 500-mile race.
