HPDE Track Day
Pocono Raceway will host two HPDE Track Days in 2026. The first event will take place on July 8th with a second date on September 9th.
HPDE Track Days are non-competitive driving events conducted in personally owned vehicles. They are designed to offer a cost-effective opportunity for drivers to experience the track in a safe, controlled environment at speed.
This event is organized by the master driver coach & retired pro driver, Dennis Macchio. Dennis has over 45 years of professional experience in motorsports and is considered one of the top instructors in the country.

Do I need prior track experience to participate?
No. Drivers of all experience levels are welcome. If you’re new, you’ll be placed in the Novice group and will participate in a driver education program run by the track.
How do I register for the event?
All drivers must pre-register online at least 48 hours before the event. Walk-ups or day-of registrations are not permitted.
Is there a pre-event drivers meeting?
Yes. All participants MUST attend the Drivers Meeting on the day of the event. No exceptions.
What are the age requirements to drive?
Drivers must be 18 years or older, or hold a valid driver’s license or competition license. Drivers under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at all times and must complete a minor waiver.
What safety gear is required?
All drivers must bring their own Snell SA2015 (or newer) helmet (no loaners available), closed-toe lace-up shoes, long pants, and a long-sleeve shirt. Drivers in fully caged race cars must also wear a racing suit, gloves, and a balaclava.
Are loaner helmets or gear available?
No. Loaner helmets and safety gear are not available.
What kind of vehicles are allowed?
Most street cars are allowed if they meet safety requirements. Convertibles must have a roll cage. Electric vehicles are not permitted. All vehicles are subject to final approval by tech inspectors.
Do I need to get my car inspected?
Yes. A tech sheet must be completed and submitted before going on track. Pre-event inspections are highly recommended to avoid delays. Click Here for a sample of the tech sheet that will be required.
Can I bring a passenger?
Novice group: No passengers except instructors. Advanced group: Passengers allowed case-by-case approval only.
Is racing allowed during the event?
No. This is a non-competitive instructional driving event. Racing and aggressive competition are strictly prohibited.
Are spectators allowed?
Yes. All spectators must purchase a spectator ticket to enter the facility. Spectators must follow all rules, and drivers are responsible for their guests.
Can I bring friends or family into the paddock?
Yes, with a valid spectator ticket. No minors may operate vehicles. Drivers are responsible for guest behavior.
What is not allowed at the event?
Alcohol or drugs during event hours, aggressive driving, drones, unauthorized motorized vehicles, and open fires are strictly prohibited. Violations may result in expulsion.
Spectator TIckets
Spectators are welcome with a pre-purchased spectator pass. Passes are $10. Guests are of the responsibility of the driver. Spectators must follow all rules and regulations.
