LONG POND, PA (November 6, 2014) ̶̶̶ The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will again serve as companion events for Pocono Raceway’s two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekends in 2015. The June 6, Pocono ARCA 200 will set the stage for the Pocono 400 Sprint Cup race on Sunday June 7. Then on August 1, a doubleheader consisting of the ModSpace ARCA 125 and the Pocono Mountains 150, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, will lead up to the Pennsylvania 400 Sprint Cup race on August 2.
“The two ARCA Series races have become a staple on our schedule for the last 28 years,” stated Brandon Igdalsky, Pocono Raceway President and CEO. “The mix of seeing younger drivers clash with veterans is something Pocono race fans have truly come to enjoy. We look forward to the return of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards twice in 2015 and are especially excited to see how the new ARCA Ilmore396 engine performs around ‘The Tricky Triangle.’ The Pocono ARCA 200 on June 6, 2015 will mark the 60th race for the ARCA Racing Series here at Pocono since 1983.”
Past winners of Pocono ARCA races who have gone on to become established Sprint Cup Series stars include: Ryan Newman, Joey Logano, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Casey Mears, as well as, the top 2014 Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year contender Kyle Larson and current NASCAR Nationwide Series points leader Chase Elliott.
