Pocono Raceway Launches #itsMYturn Campaign
Social Media Initiative Focused on Fans and Drivers

LONG POND, PA (May 1, 2014) – Pocono Raceway launched their #itsMYturn social media campaign today. This initiative focuses on the question of who ‘owns’ the non-existent Turn 4 at The Tricky Triangle and what does Turn 4 represent to the fans and drivers.

“Our staff began to ask themselves, who is the rightful owner of Turn 4 this offseason,” said Pocono Raceway President/CEO, Brandon Igdalsky. “We found it was not something the Raceway owned. Instead, it held a deeper meaning. It belongs to the fans, drivers, teams and all guests who make annual visits to Pocono Raceway for one of our three national auto racing events.

“Turn 4 belongs to the families who pass the tradition of attending Pocono races down from one generation to the next, the campers who once parked next to strangers one year and continue to park next to these friends every summer, the young race fans who meet their idols and get to watch them race live for the first time and, of course, the winning race car driver who takes his final left hand turn of the day into Victory Lane.

“If we ask the fans, whose turn is it to visit Pocono Raceway? And, if we ask the drivers and teams, whose turn is it to win the Pocono 400, Pocono INDYCAR 500 Fueled by Sunoco or the GoBowling.com 400 this year? We are certain their answer will collectively be, it’s my turn!”

The social media campaign will run all year long and will feature stories from fans and the drivers. Pocono encourages race fans to share what Turn 4 represents to them, using #itsMYturn, via the Raceway’s social media accounts.
