LONG POND, Pa. (August 3, 2016) – Stacey Hubbard and her work with Carl’s Crusaders was selected as the winner of Pocono Raceway’s Honor A Hero campaign.
While Stacey was unable to make the Pennsylvania 400 due to a previous commitment, her charity will receive a donation of $5,000 from the Mattioli Foundation.
More than 50 heroes were nominated in June and July with the list whittled down to three finalists. Top consideration was given to those who aligned with Pocono Raceway’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Service, Sustainability, Growth and Communication.
Stacey helped found Carl’s Crusaders in honor of her husband who passed away with cancer. Now, she helps raise money for research and patient care at Smilow Cancer Center Hospital Yale Cancer Center.
Rita Colburn, a retired Oncology nurse with more than 40 years of service in the profession, was among the finalists and enjoyed ticket upgrades during the Pennsylvania 400.
Mack Young, who is extremely active in the community through youth sports and his role with the Boy Scouts, was the third finalist.
Pocono Raceway will host the Verizon IndyCar Series ABC Supply 500 on Sunday, August 21. Tickets are now on sale at www.poconoraceway.com or by calling 1-800-RACEWAY.
